Appointment Times & Cancellations

Your appointment is reserved exclusively for you. We do not rush care or double book patients.

While some days are hectic or simply do not go as planned, for you or for our team, it is rare that we keep you waiting or reschedule your appointment, and we request the same commitment to scheduled time from you.

If you must cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide 2 days notice so that we may offer that time to others on a waiting list.

If you know you have an unpredictable schedule, please do not schedule in advance, but rather ask our admin super stars to call you the week you are due to arrange a time.

Insurance & Payments

We offer direct billing to insurance when possible, and we accept Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Debit, Cheque and cash payments. All treatment costs are due on the day of care.

We offer treatment 0% financing in house and via Health Smart to help you get necessary care in a timely manner, on a convenient payment plan of 3, 6 or 18 months.

Dental Insurance: If your primary dental insurance provider is willing to send our office payment directly, we will accept it. We will submit claims electronically for you.

If you have secondary insurance, we will submit claims electronically for you. Some secondary insurance plans will only pay directly to you, and some to the office. We will advise you of the automated response from your secondary insurance company on the day of treatment.

If you have a Health Spending Account, only you can submit directly to them for reimbursement. We collect your payment on the day of treatment, we provide you with the forms you need to be reimbursed.

Your First Appointment

Dental emergencies are accommodated promptly to address a single tooth or issue. For all other first visits, we practice comprehensive care.

We are a comprehensive family dental office with a commitment to preventative care on schedule, treating cavities early to prevent more damage and costly care, and periodontal, orthodontic and advanced dentistry with a focus on minimizing and preventing future dental problems.

Most often, your first visit will be a Comprehensive Oral Examination (COE) with x-rays. This 60 minute appointment allows us to take a full account of your medical and dental health. It is a snapshot or baseline we can refer to and use to guide your personal treatment plan.

Your second visit will be for a professional dental cleaning. For most adults, this is a 45-60 minute appointment.

In some cases, we will schedule a COE + dental cleaning together. Our team can advise you at the time of scheduling.

If your COE shows your gums are in good health, and you are at low risk for diabetes or periodontal disease, we will prescribe cleanings every 6 months or so.

If you are not a daily flosser, have symptoms of gingivitis or other health risks, we will prescribe dental cleanings every 3 months.

If your COE reveals active gum disease, your first cleaning will be split into a series of either 2, 4 or 6 gum therapy appointments. Your dentist will explain your condition, gum score and x-rays, and the recommended treatment plan to you during your COE.

We respect your choices. We will always present you with current symptoms, facts and treatment options, and we will always honour your choice for treatment.
